Dr. Yicen Jiang
Yicen Jiang is a Ph.D. candidate at the School of Social Development and Public Policy at Fudan University in Shanghai. Her research centers on the social determinants of health, family dynamics, and the implications of population aging in contemporary China. In her recent presentation titled “Between Tradition and Modernity: How Gendered Housework Division Shapes Older Adults’ Health in China,” she explores how traditional gender roles and evolving social expectations intersect to influence the health outcomes of older adults. Her work sheds light on how unequal divisions of domestic labor continue to affect physical and mental well-being in later life, offering critical insights into the intersection of gender, aging, and health policy in a rapidly changing society.
